This policy explains what personal information we collect through evchargerguru.com.au and our related services, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Who we are
EV Charger Guru connects homeowners with licensed, insured electricians in our partner network who install home EV chargers. We prepare quotes, coordinate bookings and follow up after installation. The installation itself is carried out by an independent registered electrical contractor.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote, unlock our pricing, contact us or apply to join our installer network, we collect the details you provide. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number, suburb, vehicle and home details, and any notes you add. For installer applications, we also collect your licence number, ABN, business name and service areas.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our analytics and advertising tools collect technical information such as pages viewed, the page you came from, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you interacted with forms and buttons.
We don't collect payment details, government identifiers or sensitive information through this site.
How we use your information
- To prepare and send your quote and answer your questions.
- To arrange your installation with a partner electrician and follow up afterwards.
- To send you the pricing information you requested and occasional follow-up emails about your enquiry. You can opt out of follow-ups at any time.
- To assess applications from electricians wanting to join our network.
- To understand how the site is used, measure our advertising and improve our services.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
- Partner electricians. To quote and carry out your installation, we share the details needed for the job (such as your name, contact details, suburb or address, vehicle and job notes) with the licensed electrician from our network who will do the work. They may contact you directly about your installation.
- Service providers who help us run the business, including our form provider (Formspree), email provider, website host and Google (analytics and advertising). They may only use the information to provide services to us.
- Authorities where required or permitted by law.
We don't sell your personal information.
Overseas storage
Some of our service providers, including Formspree and Google, store data on servers outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This site uses cookies and similar technologies:
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the site.
- Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our ads lead to quote requests. We may also use Google Ads remarketing to show our ads to people who have previously visited the site, on Google and partner websites.
- Browser storage to remember small preferences, such as whether you've already unlocked our pricing.

Google Ads API
We use the Google Ads API to manage and report on our own Google Ads advertising account: creating and updating campaigns, keywords and budgets, and reviewing performance. The data we access through the API relates to our own advertising account and campaigns. We use it only to run our own advertising, we don't share it with third parties, and we don't use it to identify individual people.
Marketing emails
We only send follow-up or marketing emails about our services where you've given us your email for that purpose, such as when unlocking pricing or requesting a quote. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email admin@evchargerguru.com.au to opt out.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing admin@evchargerguru.com.au with "Privacy" in the subject. We'll respond within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
